If you have ever crafted anything, you know the hours of meticulous work that goes into producing a beautiful end result. You know every nook and cranny of your piece by heart–all of its strengths and its weaknesses.
God crafted us and knows us in the same way. When we chose to allow sin to distort His masterpiece, He again demonstrated his deep love for us by dying to take the punishment for our wrongdoings. He then proclaimed victory over sin by coming back from the dead. Now He asks that we live our lives for Him.
The teenage and pre-teen years are vital. The decisions that you and I make as young people will affect the rest of our lives. We are continually being molded and crafted by Jesus Christ to become more like Him. On this blog, I write about how Christ is slowly shaping me.
So welcome, friend. My name is Miriam, and I am a 18-year-old, coffee-loving college student with a passion for sharing the love of God with others and helping young Christians make their faith their own.
Some other things you should know about me are:
-I’m a believer in Jesus Christ. Although I said the “salvation prayer” in Kindergarten, I didn’t fully commit my life to Christ until I was 13. Now I’m trying my best to live for the Creator who loves me enough to lay down His life for me.
-I am the oldest of 5 kids. Even though it can be challenging, I absolutely love being a big sister and seeing what God has for each of my younger siblings.
-I have a passion for helping teens and pre-teens develop spiritual disciplines and take the next step in their relationships with Christ. I believe that God intends to use my generation in incredible ways if we will only submit to his will, and it starts with some basic, daily habits.
-I was homeschooled for most of my education and I absolutely loved it. Learning from home taught me so many valuable skills for college and for life. I am so grateful to my parents for providing me with such an amazing education.
-I love to diagram sentences, write essays, and read 500-page novels. Grammar class was always my favorite. I’ve always been an English person, but not really a math person. Not very many people seem to like both!
-I love kids–especially my adorable, 3-year-old twin siblings. I minister in my church’s AWANA program, babysit, teach Sunday school, and lead a Bible study for pre-teen girls. I am studying to become an elementary school teacher.
-I always wonder what writers look like when I’m reading their blogs, books, or articles. Just for the record, I’m 5’5 (and a half!) with medium-length, blonde hair and hazel eyes. I’m often told that I’m deathly pale. All. Year. Long.
-I’m a Type A girl through and through! Organization is my obsession. I LOVE post-it tabs, three-ring binders, brand new, crisp notebooks, and fine-tipped pens. I would fail all my classes without my planner and colored gel pens.
-I have an unhealthy addiction to chocolate. Can you even get counseling for that?
I would be thrilled to know more about you, so please feel free to comment! Thank you for stopping by to explore my blog. I pray that you are encouraged to live your life audaciously for the glory of the Creator.
