Why You Should Stop Making Trump Jokes

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.”

~Romans 13:1-5

You may not agree with him; you may not like him; you may wish he was someone else; but regardless, Donald Trump is our president. The division and disrespect throughout our country right now is outrageous. Of all people, Christians should be the ones that stand out from the crowd. We should be different from the rest of Americans because we show RESPECT to our president, to our country, and to ourselves. Raging, arguing, and blaspheming President Trump is blatantly spitting in God’s face. President Donald Trump has been “instituted by God,” whether you and I like it or not. In this time of political turmoil, show the world who Jesus is. Before you post a comment on social media, make a crude Trump joke, or complain about how the election turned out, remember to ask yourself: “would Jesus say this?”

The body of Christ is so divided by matters of opinion. Of all times, Christians need to stand as one righteous body under Christ our head and act like we are His children.

GOD HAS A PLAN. Trust Him and His will for the United States of America.

  1. Thank you for this post! I am so fed up with our country right now. From burning flags, to trashing buildings, and making a fool out of our new president, our fellow Americans are making a scene over something they can’t control. I may not agree with some of his actions, but he is still our President, and I have hopes that he will be a great leader and lead us under God’s guidance. There is no sense in crying over spilled milk. God has this under control.

  2. Very true. I totally agree. If you are an American–he IS your president. That doesn’t mean you have to agree with him in any way. People have respect that fact that he is our leader, no matter if they voted for him or not. And its not like their protests are gonna kick him out of office! He’s staying there, for at least the next four years. And the American people have to understand and accept that.
